The Claas design threshes in stages which helps make it more efficient. I believe it does thresh better which is evident by the much smaller return system vs the much larger and more complicated rethreshers on other models. The design is made to thresh it completely the first time. I also think the ability to switch out APS grates and concave threshing moduals for certain crops or conditions make it a better design. Claas also allows you to change threshing speeds independently from one another. Claas you can balance rotor loss and sieve loss thru setting and rotor covers. I also find sieve loads are much more balanced with the Claas design, the sieve load is parallel with the threshing drum vs on a single rotor design the sieve load is perpendicular.

Parts availability I cannot complain one bit at all in four seasons of running Claas. Service has been very good too. This past week I had an injector code. Butler had a tech to the farm within three hours of calling. I had the new injector by 11:00 the next day. I can’t say in my experience of JD that they would be any faster.

I think parts and service will only get batter as Claas enters the area with their own dealerships.
