Jdel,if you have a need for a decent amount of heat,you can buy a top load furnace like the Logboiler out of Michigan,,we have not split wood in near 20 years.Just build a brow,load,roll them in at 4 ft length.Very little cutting with chainsaw,green oak burns just fine.
