The bushel counter just counts bushels, it doesn't care what field you are in. It will just keep counting until you reset it, it doesn't not automatically reset.
As far as task files go, when you switch fields it will automatically create a new task file. It won't allow you to save data in a task file created in a different field than you currently have selected.
