Been a couple years but the best i can remember is the sensor screws into a fitting that allows the oring to seal without the sensor being tight... screwing it in or out let you set it so the ball would be depressed as soon as the hydro was moved to reverse. I believe a set screw then locked it there.. if you take the sensor out and depress the ball on its end with the key on the alarm should sound
