You shopped around and found the best deal. I am guessing it was the best deal because it has been rented a little. Who knows how much and will be hard to prove.
You learned a lesson and as long as paint isn't scratched, etc, use it for what you intended.
Next time when shopping, specify brand new, never used trailer in the pricing if that is what you want.
