Ron, we wire our business radios " hot" on purpose in our trucks & cart tractor. That way if the driver shuts the engine off we can still reach them. We typically shut the radios off at night but occasionally they get left on. They don't pull that much power and have had them sit up to a week or longer & not run the batteries down.
