JRCS Farms - 9/15/2024 22:08

Once the agreement is signed we don’t touch the machine, even if it’s still on our farm. We traded a tractor once and there was a delay in getting some work wrapped up on the new to us tractor. Dealer said we could use the trade in as it was time to work. This is real. Blew the head gasket and trashed the engine. Called the dealer right away to let them know. Guess we saved the next guy the headache but made a mess for the dealer and ourselves. We ended up trading it for closer to salvage yard price than the initial price but at the end of the day we were grateful the dealer worked with us through it. But we won’t put ourselves in that spot again

Dealer should not have been up set with you, if he had taken it in "on time" sold it to a good customer or even a new customer and it happened it could have been an even bigger mess. What if it was a hot head and he posted on here about that money-grubbing crooked dealer etc. (Oh wait that would never happen)

PS that is why I hate to borrow equipment!!!!
