24 volts with take a battery terminal right off a battery top. 40 years back I was with a friend who put new batteries in a cab over truck.The cables were shabby but otherwise workable. But apparently the draw bolt bottomed out and didn't squeeze the post well enough. He his the starter and there was an ark of sparks and the one battery terminal post was over half gone, just like that.
What happened to this new battery? (Picture attached)
