| I'm not in this boat, and won't be probably ever. I'm just curious how this works.
Let's say I've got a JD 8300. I want to trade in on a brand new 7r 210. The dealer won't have my 210 for a year. I want to trade in my 8300, but can't turn it loose until I have my new tractor.
How so the dealer & I work this? Obviously he has no clue what the market will be in a year, so he can't give me trade in value on it. Is he expected to guess? If he guesses and the market takes a dive is he expected to honor the terms? If he guesses, and the market goes through the roof, is he expected to give me more? Seems like a good way for a dealer to lose his butt, or have an angry customer.
Again, nothing to trade in, just curious the process. | |
