From what information that I can gather about the Hot Start. On a stick welder it is helpful to get the arc going. It is a higher power setting for a moment while the stick welder is establishing the arc. So maybe it is a higher power setting for a moment on the wire welder also. Apparently it is desirable for thick steel. Apparently on the lower power settings for gauge steel it is problematic. So maybe a switch would be more helpful than a wire cutter? Seems like an external switch would be better. Maybe some welders have these? |
