Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Speaking of the feed accelerator, I plugged mine once (it was set to the correct speed). We spent a lot of time getting it unplugged.
I'm not advertising this for them, but Lankota makes a tool to help in this situation. After my incident I purchased one and fortunately have not needed to use it. Seems like it was about $400 which would have been worth it at the time of my problem. They have an additional option for it so it can be used on the discharge beater also.
If any of my neighbors have need for it, you are welcome to borrow it. I bought it for my 9x70 series but it can be used on at least some of the "S" series.
As far as switching things between corn and soybeans, I change all the things mentioned which really doesn't take all that long.
If you've changed the speed of the feeder house, remember to change it back to the slowest speed for soybeans. Since my 9770 has the 5 speed feeder house transmission rather than the snow mobile type drive, my transmission will revert to "1st" gear when the soybean head is attached. I think the key may need to be cycled OFF and then back ON for this to automatically take place.
