NW Iowa
25 years ago I forgot to drain the water out of an SC Case and put anti freeze in it after replacing the sleeve Orings. I put straight water in it just in case the O ring job leaked. It sat all winter and in the spring I started it up and drove it not knowing the side of the block had cracked and let the water out. When the paint started smoking I shut it down and it was then I found the crack. I pushed it into the shop Removed the carb and laid the tractor over on its side in the shop using the chain hoist and a loader. Then I cleaned up the crack and welded it shut. I then smeared some JB weld over the crack because I didn’t trust my amateur welding. I am still using that tractor and it runs just fine but if I ever need to pull the head I can almost guarantee you it will be cracked. Laying that tractor over in the shop was spooky to say the least.
