Yeah, the 4B was never intended to be overhauled …….. at least by Cummins.

I’m sure you’re right about the lifters. The cam is one thing that could be diagnosed and repaired without pulling the engine and paying for an overhaul kit for an engine that doesn’t have a lot of other problems at this point.

Not many engines can be described as running well and not having much blow by once metal starts showing up from crankshaft or pistons, so that’s why I’m thinking maybe cam.
