Subject: RE: Removing tractor or combine tires from the rim

Used to be a tire man. Only thing I used for a complete dismount was a 4' tire iron and a hook hammer from Ken Tool. Did everything from little Ford tractors to combines. Basically got the tire out as far as possible while still in the drop center, stuck the end of the bar in and pried the bead over the edge of the rim, then used my hip to hold the bar and pound the bead off the rim with the hammer. Never ran across one I couldn't dismount.
Had 1 customer thought they were going to save money by changing the tires on their 4wd them selves. After spending 3/4 of the day on the 1st one (and wrecking the tube in the process) using a tractor to pull and such, they had me come out to do the other 3. Got done in a little over an hour.
