Read on Unofficial Allis forum. Discussion about different engines in D21. Not any great ideas. Parts availability for Buda engines is a problem. About 30 years ago, I had an Allis dozer. Looking for parts, I was 400 miles from home to find used parts. That guy told me "you ain't ever going to find any more of these".
Some of them the aftermarket has started building some parts for...not any harder than finding a good original D21/210/220 block with the cam driven oil pump.
I rebuild or repair about one of those old engines a year, and they can be fun getting parts for the original 426's...but I'd still repair a D21 vs swapping anything else in it just because of the collector value of the tractor.
