It says it on the tube or if it doesn't then it probably is a type I. As stated below, do not use silicone on metal roofs. If I buy silicone I only buy the type II since I may use it on steel mating parts. Silicone is my go to instead of pipe dope for assembling poly or nylon fittings.
Also the two types smell different:
"GE silicone I is an acid cure, meaning that acetic acid (vinegar) is the curing agent. That is why you smell the vinegar smell. GE silicone II is ammonia cure, meaning that ammonia is the curing agent."
