Subject: Hole in air supply tube on Mack CH613

NE ND
I was putting a new coolant surge tank on my 2000 Mack ch613 and I see a hole in the plastic housing of the air cleaner. From what I can tell this is letting unfiltered air into my engine. Is there something that’s supposed to plug this? Is the boot supposed to slide on far enough to cover it up? I don’t know long it’s been like this but just noticed it and doesn’t seem right to me.
