I would advise anyone listening to never ever try to handle wire coming out of the business end of a mig unless you want to have a new hole in your hand.
to the OP.. I have a miller 250 and it will shove that wire into something hard and just wad the wire into a pile if there is no ground connection to get an arc.
How do I make a wire welder work correctly?
