I'm no pro but this is what works for me-

I use the ken-tool truck tire irons and use the curved end (snake head) to hook the edge of the rim underneath the tire bead from the inside and pry it up and over to start.

Then stick my 36" straight prybar in right beside it to get another bite. The straight bar will move the tire further than the curved bar but I always need the curved one to start.

Then I take a set of vice grips and clamp it on the lip of the rim to hold the tire out. Then lots of lube and get more bites with the bars working your way around using another pair of vice grips to hold that bead from popping back over the rim.

Make sure the bead of the tire is in the lowest part of the rim opposite of the side your are prying on.

I'm sure the above comes across clear as mud. I bet there are some you tube videos of the pros. doing it to give you a better idea.
