Later models have a separate shaft, but the 9x00 Maximizers do not.

I would say don’t bother to remove it either.

One thing I would plan ahead of time is how you’ll cap the hydraulic lines. They’re flat face o-ring sealed connections and will eventually drain the hydraulic reservoir completely unless capped.

I’ve always used a forklift on my skid steer loader just poked into the feederhouse above the lower drum to handle the 9600 feederhouse. A real forklift should be a very effective machine as well if the upper feederhouse is chained back to the forklift mast
