Subject: JD 9600 Feederhouse

AB.
Going to do the rebuild on the feeder house myself, Started taking it off this afternoon. Yanked the feeder chain and thought I might pull the drum before removing. I also thought I should remove the reverser gearcase to make it lighter and easier to move around.

My question is does that shaft that goes under the feeder house to the right side drive go all the way through that gear case? or does it just plug into the back and it just pulls out of the back of the gearcase?

I was thinking it would be easiest to stand the feederhouse on its face and pull off the floor and get at the back drive shaft and sprockets from that position.

Thanks
