I have always wondered about hardfacing the last couple inches of rotary shredder blades, just on one side with the idea that they might kind of self sharpen. Finding hardface rod or wire rated for impact is not a problem, but I'm a little worried that welding might alter the temper of the blade and make it brittle.
Is it worth hard sufacing a shredder blade?
