Northeast Indiana | During normal times in the machinery business, something that has never made sense to me is selling equipment cheaper for a cash only deal vs a trade in deal. With a trade in deal they should make even more money selling the traded in unit vs with cash, they are only making money on the 1 machine. To me, taking a machine on trade would allow another 10-20% of profit for the deal vs just selling the machine for cash. I get that there is overhead/interest costs to having machines sitting on the lot, but that is obviously accounted for in the allowance of the traded in machine. | |
