Subject: RE: John Deere 8R ILS pin turning

Gull lake Saskatchewan
Just bored one out and put a repair kit into our 8420. It kept wrecking the sensor and doing weird things so to determine that it was actually turning I calibrated it and recorded both up limit and low limit numbers on the pin I had in suspicion took it for a small ride and calibrated it again and checked the calibration numbers again and both numbers were consistently higher than before so then i was sure it was turning. The old pin which im sure is still the same on the newer 8r series had splines to keep it from turning and the rear nut loosened off a bit which shouldn't happen cause its peened but regardless anyway did and the splines somehow wore off and stripped out hence the reason for the repair pin. Old pin lasted over 13000 hours so hopefully the new one will as well
