Subject: RE: Front bearing on a 1688 case combine replacement

Ontario, Canada
should be able to tie rotor back with a ratchet strap to stop it uncoupling from rotor gear case, i go from rear of rotor at a puck mount to chopper concave. then remove #1 or 2 concave and use another strap to take the weight of rotor to lift it. unbolt and remove top round cover and the remove front rotor support and change bearing. the only thing is if the bearing is seized had to torch last inner bearing race from shaft. if you want more room a loader and about 40 min and the feeder is off.
