Iowa | I'm totally guessing here- what about that little braided ground strap running from the ecm to the block?
Other place I might check is I believe there is a relay called the E.O.P. (engine oil pressure) or hydraulic function relay. Sorry I don't have my manual in front of me.
Anyway- I believe this relay kills hydraulic functions if it doesn't see engine oil pressure. I'm not sure how that's related to the tach. though which made me think of that ground strap.
Engine RPM about has to be read through the ECM and I'm wondering if when they went to the electronic engine they did away with that switch we can't find and used the ECM to run that oil pressure relay via that switch/sensor you show above in you pictures.
I hope you get it- those intermittent problems can drive a guy nuts. | |
