jd4930 - 9/12/2024 18:31 What kind of numbers do you guys see? We run s790s, ran x9 1100 this fall side by side for a few days. In 75+ wheat there was a substantial increase in capacity, the poorer the wheat the smaller the spread we seen in acres per hour. X9 was about maxed out power wise with 50' head, s790 had a bit more power than we were using but the obvious limit of shoe capacity in high yield

With two 1100s, we are seeing up to 10 more acres per hour per machine over our 2 previous combines S780s with 45ft headers or up to 35 acres per hour.   One day we cut 600 acres of 30-40 bu winter wheat.  X9s have the 50ft headers.  I agree on the power and even in our yields it wouldn't hurt if JD added a few more ponies.  Lot of times what holds us back in just not wanting to go so damn fast and ruin the header or eat a rock we didn't see.  We bought 80ft roller this spring just to roll some of our rockier ground for that purpose.
