Maryland | I have a 2001 F550 7.3 with only 150K miles. It has low oil pressure at idle but oil pressure returns when rpms are raised.
-There's no blow-by and the truck seems to run fine
-The truck does not shut down due to low oil pressure
-It truly is low pressure, I put a real gauge on it, drops to around 5 psi at idle
-New oil pressure sensor
-New low pressure oil pump
-New resealed oil cooler
-New oil cooler housing and and pressure relief valve
-Motorcraft oil filter and oil to spec
I just ordered a camera to check if the oil pickup tube may be clogged by something but it's a stretch. I'm wondering if it's a bearing issue but again, no blow-by, no metal shavings seen, the motor sounds good and you hear no issues even right after startup.
Anything I'm missing until I give it up to a bearing issue? | |
