IA
2013 would have been the last year for the 3800 so the issues were mainly all addressed. The frame is built for the long haul and would not be afraid of it or the row units as they would be just standard wear items to review and if they are worn can be updated to the 05 series changes.
The bulk fill system is a very simple and easy to use. The issues were mainly lid leaks but that model year should have the 1/4 turn lids which eliminates most of the lid leaks that causing seed bridging. There is a tank ring reinforcement kit to help stiffen the top of the tank to keep it more flat to even further prevent leaks and reduce bridging. You can even update the entrainer on the bottom of the tank to the new 05 series which is more efficient and supports planting more crops and helps with planting large corn (ie 60 lbs and up).
If it is still an edgevac meter machine I would spend the time to update to the newer True rate meter as the edgevac meter is obsolete and the True Rate meter is so much longer lasting, way easier to set and better performing meter.
With that one being a vacuum machine just give a good look over the drieline that drives the pump, the pto shaft etc for wear etc. Overall a great toolbar that was replace by the 4900 then 4905 and now 5900 toolbar. Email is good if you have other questions etc.
