Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | My driver pulls up and under me and sets the throttle and gear at a speed he used in the past. I start to unload and if the cart seems to be pulling away from me since he is going a bit too fast, I just shut the auger off. The driver notices that he is pulling ahead of me and slows down a bit. I then engage the auger auger again and resume unloading again. The driver quickly figures out what speed is appropriate. He holds that speed and I adjust the combine speed if necessary to top off the cart.
Once I am empty, I shut off the auger and fold it back. The cart driver notices this and either pulls away or sticks with me to get me completely empty on the truck end.
This approach means that at times, I'm driving the combine a bit slower than I could but we are STO so that is not a concern. |
