I have done exactly what you are looking to do on the exact same planter and for the same reason
I designed some brackets and had a neighbour who is a CNC machinist make them for me out of aluminum. I will get some pictures tomorrow and post them on here.
I started with only a few rows a couple years ago and noticed the population stayed much more consistent (on the rows with 9000 series meters) when row units start bouncing in rocky areas or with hard soil. I attribute it to the longer cutoff brush giving less chance for the beans to fall off the disc before the brush holds them in.
Very happy with the results after one season of running all the rows with 9000 series meters
