Subject: RE: Case IH 165 plow & JD 4455

So this would all be straight lines. Heavy clay ground though with some hills. Currently we plow with a 4-bottom JD F835 rollover, or a 5-bottom CASE 720 with an old JD 4320 and it pulls it but not past 3rd gear. I was worried that the 4455 wouldn't pick up a 6-bottom. Anybody have a manual that shows the weight? I have an Artsway 166 manual (which I know is almost the same plow)
That manual says a 5 bottom rigid beam = 3,524lbs
6 bottom rigid beam = 4,174 lbs

Tractordata says it can lift 5,504 lbs

This CASE 165 would be a 5-bottom rigid beam.

So could we go with a 6-bottom or what am I missing?
