Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Thanks for all the replies. After looking at several combines and talking with folks, it appears that it is a personal preference type of thing. This morning I watched a video on the Deere X9 and noticed that the slats on that one at least were smooth on both sides so mounting them either way would be the same. The older combines that I happened to observe were that way also.
Since my slats are used and worn somewhat smooth, guess I'll go with the notched side on the leading edge.
