We've got a CIH tractor that's about 4 shades of red from sun fading. It can't really look any worse, so looking at trying to freshen it up a little. Going for that 50/50 paint job. 50 feet away at 50mph.
I figured using a spray pressure pot and CNH paint. Looking for prep suggestions, 1000 grit and spray it? Primer first? Wet sand ECT? Is clear coat necessary?
Be one of my first painting projects, I've dabbled in some car parts painting but nothing that ever had to turn out proper and it didn't either.
Is it too far gone to try to "buff it out" with some rubbing compound and wax?
Be careful with this if you do it. Our CIH 9370 is too far gone to buff any more, there are a couple areas on the hood that show some light red with primer color showing through.
