If you want it to last don't use paint from the dealer. Find a body shop or a paint supplier and get some IMRON 3.5 HG and it will last a long long time and it's easy to spray. 1000 grit is too fine. If the paint underneath is decent but just needs new color sand with 600 and go right to paint.
