Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | Yes, many of the Ag videos get reversed, something about copyright that I don't understand. Strange to see the old two cylinder Deeres plowing with the clutch on the left and the left tire in the furrow in many videos.
I used to be a Junior High Math teacher. One page in our 8th grade Math text had a picture of a farmer plowing with an open station 3020. It was printed in reverse which caught my eye especially since I had spent many hours plowing. I always asked my students what was wrong with the picture figuring some of the farm kids would at least catch it. Many answers indicated a flat tire, apparently they thought the tire in the furrow was a flat. One observant boy mentioned that the single warning light on the fender was on the "wrong" side to warn traffic. I thought that was very observant. No student ever mentioned the idea that normal in furrow plowing (without a rollover plow) would be with the right rear tire in the furrow.
There wasn't any confusion on the Sloan combine video. Looking at the drum from the front the notched edge on each slat was on the lower edge. It was that way on one of my neighbors but the other way on two others. I just got a message from another neighbor who just had his replaced. He said his Tech installed them with the notched side leading but that it didn't really matter much.
