Been a long time since I’ve done those, but. As I think about it. Pull the rod out. Hook both ends of the spring up. Get the rod half way through at the top. Push the bottom of the rod till you can line the top up and push it all the way through at the top. Not sure that makes sense but pretty sure I remember something like that.
