Subject: RE: ABS light on trailer ???

Interstate 35 North ia
The center wire on your 7 pin cord is what runs the ABS system on the trailer, Prior to ABS systems ,the center wire was used to run lift axles or belly dump gates . So that center wire was dead until you rigged it up to run your axle or gate . When pulling an ABS trailer with a non ABS truck the trailer ABS system is suppose to still work because anytime the brake lights come on it also feeds the ABS system as a backup power source . When this situation happen the yellow ABS light on the back of the trailer would illuminate anytime the brakes were applied and go out again when the brake lights did . So i would check your center wire on your truck and see if by chance it is hot
