The company guy say no....I have always thought so....we have chained them up many times as I think removing them would upset the weight balance of the machine? Company guy also says to put snow plow flags on them so you can see how much they bounce back and fort and slow down till they stop bouncing and washboarding will go away....I haven't tried that yet.
