Tell me about a 6-6 pattern and how both sets are viable for seed?  Is this part of raising the inbred?





Yes, it’s about raising the inbreds/foundation/parent seeds. They do a lot of small acreage stuff out here. I think we are pretty early in the seed production chain, like they grow some in greenhouses and then go outside and start growing it in Hawaii and here.

Increases are exactly what they sound like. The 6-6 pattern is new to me this year, we’ve not done that one before. I believe it’s an increase and a hybrid cross in the same field. The male rows pollenate both the female rows and themselves, so the females rows are a hybrid and the male rows are harvested as an increase.
