Subject: RE: JD 9870 combines

Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells
We bought 9770 new in 2011 with 635F and 612 (12 row 22”) what a great combine wouldn’t be going down the road any time soon. In 2020 our 9510 that we had to help cut beans was to low in capacity as our acres had increased over time. Set out to find good low houred 2011 model 9770, when we stumbled upon a low houred 2011 model 9870 that was priced way under the 9770s. Rest is history, after 4 years of running both in beans the extra power is nice. We have tracks on the 9770 from some wet falls in late teen years. So we start on corn if wet 9770 is the go too, if dry the 9870. Yes 9870 burns more fuel per hour, but it harvest more bu also, I haven’t no hard numbers to know how that balances out.
