| Have a 9870 we bought in 19 or 20, was prob 1/2 price of a similar 96/9770. Been a good machine, it does burn a lot of fuel though. Other than the engine and a larger clean grain elevator there are not many difference between 9870 and 97/96. We are running an 8 row corn head and 40 ft draper, combine already had 26 ft auger and 40 ft heads were cheaper than 35 ft so went with 40.
Edit to add our machine came from Montana, ran a lot of 20 bu wheat we were told, seems to have a lot less wear in places than a much lower hour corn/bean machine. Up to 4800 engine hours now.
