They work best in crops that flow easily. Think edibles and soy beans, wheat, corn, maybe canola. Sticky crops, like oats or maybe barley, maybe not so much. Even under the best of conditions, a guy needs to clean the screen on occasion. I keep a long rod with a scraper handy on the combine to reach over and under the screen for just such occasions.
