What is a soybean screen for a combine? Everyone that I know of, only work on small seeds and not big seed. Is it something different?
Usually a 3/8 to .40 inch perforated screen that replaces the sieve. Keeps 99% of pods and unthreshed pods out of the sample. Too, pretty much any chunky stuff that makes it to the shoe. That, along with a perforated shoe floor to take out fines, can provide you with a sample darn near fit to run through a planter or drill.
You can size the perforations to meet most any crop you can imagine. You can build your own, based on the combines sieve frame size, using square tubular steel and angle iron. Various screen perforations are available on line. They're lighter then your adjustable sieve and at one time, most combine manufacturers offered a selection of screens to meet individual needs. | |
