Maybe others can correct me, as I'm not a paint and body guy. I would say a high build primer would help you with the imperfections. The one thing I will say is that Imron paint, which I believe is Axalta now is what you want. It will keep its shine for nearly forever, and is very forgivable as far as spraying it or brushing. It is expensive, but im convinced its worth the money. Its probably close to $500 a sprayable gallon after you buy the activator, and the accelerator to go with the color. This stuff can be brushed on, and it will melt down to be as glossy and smooth as if you sprayed it on. Good luck.
