Dad has one blowout 50 years ago. It was a spin on style with the gasket premade on the filter. The old gasket from the old filter decided to stay on the base so there was actually two gaskets back to back.
Seen that a lot in truck shop. New techs did not know .
Happened to me when I was pretty new .
