Had this truck since new. Got home with it the other night after a 400 mile drive and immediately noticed a different pitch when it idled(I stopped for fuel about 50 miles before I got home and didn't notice anything odd then). Louder with more of a clatter. Similar to the older 12 valve engines. Gave it some throttle and it ran smoother and quieter starting at around 900 rpm. Like it normally sounds anyway. Started it up this morning and it did the same thing so it doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold.Had new injectors installed a year ago. No check engine lights or low oil pressure. Can't get it into any diesel shops for another two weeks. Just wondering what to look for or what to expect as this definitely isn't "normal" for this engine to sound this way. Truck only has 140,000 and no rust so its worth fixing in my opinion.
