Subject: RE: Drago GT folds slow

Jeffersonville, OH
Talking with Drago, here's some thoughts:

1: Doesn't ever remember a valve failing, has seen some voltage issues not feeding full power to the solenoids, so possible check that, and/or see if the magnetism on the end of each solenoid feels the same if you stick a wrench to them?

2. CLAAS feeds oil one direction to that valve, and the valve is just shifting the oil in the opposite flow direction to fold the other way. Sounds screwy to me, but he also doesn't know if CLAAS has an orifice in that circuit to control flow on the combine side.

3. The orifices are in the cylinder or valve on the cylinder, I couldn't get him to say which, because I don't believe he wanted me to know because he knew why I was asking...possible safety issue there, and I understand. There are different size orifices on the rod and barrel side due to the oil volume difference.

So, in a nutshell, typically a slow folding header is caused by too many orifices slowing flow down too much, one on the combine, and one on the header. Deere they see it all the time, CNH Flagship they never see it. Short of a voltage or solenoid issue, that's really all they have ever seen.

Valve and coupler plate with hoses for a Lexion are $2733 list for new, only sold as that assembly.
