NE Indiana | We had problems with the IVT in our 8310RT. Dealer said needs a new transmission. It would just randomly loose calibration and stop moving. Had to shut tractor off and restart and then wait for it to do its self-calibration. 1 time it wouldn't even do that and I had to get into the tech mode to force a calibration. I didn't like the dealers answer so I did some digging. I changed some solenoids on the bottom of the transmission and then did a completely new trans calibration which clears all the old calibrations and starts from scratch. That was 1000 hours ago and hasn't done it since. Sure am glad we didn't spend the 50k they quoted to replace it. Also, as a new owner the very first thing I would do is change the Priority valve Orings. If those fail (which they will) it can start to apply the brakes while you're driving without you even knowing it. That will destroy the rearend. | |
