| SPAC is the highest form of part request that GM has. It is used for getting parts when a customer's vehicle is down. It goes to every dealership in the country and if the dealer has that part in inventory, they CAN sell it back to GM and will be expedited to the dealer than is requesting the part. The stocking dealer does not have to sell it to GM for your truck.
I currently have a 2011 GMC Acadia down at my shop for an engine computer that is unavailable through GM, there are 25 dealers in the land that have one in stock and none of them will sell it to my dealer who started a SPAC case. So we wait.
SPAC is the best the dealer can do in this economy of part shortages.
